Alan Shearer is not going to be denied in this battle to avoid relegation. Shearer has yet to earn his first win as manager of the club, he is at home for this one and Newcastle came very close last week in a home game to earning him that first win.

These guys are not too bad at home. Middlesbrough is horrendous away from home going 2-2-13 or something like that. They have lost a bunch of road games in a row and again Shearer is going to get his first home win here.

Newcastle pulled it out but the game could've gone either way. Middlesbrough were looking a little better before the goal from Martins.

Don't know what you mean when you say Newcastle was close to a win last week. They were absolutely brutal against Portsmouth, hardly creating a chance. Portsmouth had a couple good chances in the last 15-20 minutes to win it themselves and were never threatened.
